May 7 - Devotion and Announcements

Devotion for Thursday, May 7

“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all of my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the Gospel, from the first day until now.”

Philippians 1:3-5

On Day #4 of VIRTUAL TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK, let’s give thanks for our “Specials” teachers! We are blessed to have on our staff a group of expert teachers who bring a full assortment of enrichment classes to our students.

Beyond the outstanding core curriculum going on every day in our classrooms, our specials teachers provide instruction in many areas of interest, developing a wide variety of skills. Our specials classes extend and complete our well-rounded educational program. God created people with minds for all kinds of interests in all kinds of things of His creation. David glorified Him for that in the book of Psalms: “I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14.

With our emphasis on educating the whole child, our students participate every week in many fields of enrichment and practice, developing the right brain function and helping children grow in all ways, as God enables them. Each week, our students participate in lessons and activities in the areas of music education, band, choir, media and visual arts, foreign language (Spanish), physical education, technology, and library appreciation. In many creative and fascinating ways, our “Specials” teachers teach our boys and girls and show them Jesus every day.

Thank you, “Specials” staff! You are appreciated and loved!

*Physical Education: Mrs. McGavin. Art: Mrs. Fabiilli.

Spanish: Profesora Zamborlini. Technology/Library Appreciation: Miss Curley.

Choir/Band/Classroom Music: Mrs. Boeling and Mr. Napier.

Dear God,

You have filled Your world with many wonderful and interesting things! Thank you for the capability of the human mind to learn about them, and for the experts who guide us. Amen.

National Day of Prayer

Hello, Peace Lutheran School Students, Families, and Staff!

Today is Thursday, May 7, 2020, and this is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!

*Today is National Day of Prayer, recognized across America. On this special day, right where you are, please join us and our fellow citizens in raising prayers to God for our community, state, nation, and world. The 2020 National Day of Prayer Bible theme is “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” (Habakkuk 2:14) We praise God for the knowledge of His glory and for His invitation to pray!

It’s DAY #4 of VIRTUAL TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK!

(Please read and watch today’s devotion and refer to the list of daily virtual activities.)

Unashamed! Romans 1:16 reminds us of this - “I am not ashamed of the Good News about Jesus, because it is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes.” The Good News about Jesus is for you every day!

Peace family and friends, please remember who you are and whose you are. You are God’s special, beloved children. Have a wonderful day in the Lord.

Love from Jesus and us,

Mrs. Stathakis and Mrs. Quail
