Bible Lessons From My Backyard #1: Mowing the Lawn
“He will endure as long as the sun, as long as the moon, through all generations. He will be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth.” Psalm 72:5-6
Do your grown-ups ever send you out to cut the grass? I wonder if you like that job as much as I do! It’s great exercise, it gets me outside in the fresh air and sunshine, and I think it’s really an artistic activity. I also find myself doing a lot of deep thinking and praying while I am at the task. After the grass is cut, have you noticed how good the lawn smells, how fresh it looks, and how soft it feels?
In today’s passage from the Psalms, we are reminded that God’s creation endures. In establishing its continual renewal, He sustains and takes care of it. So the grass grows, eventually needing to be cut, and the rain brings it peaceful refreshment. God is that refreshment for us, soothing us with comfort and renewal.
*What do you think would happen if rain did not fall on the grass?
*Do you like the rain? How is God like soothing rain for you?
Thank you for beautiful, soft, green lawns and for providing the rain that takes care of it. Thank You for being like the gentle rain, giving us Your great comfort and refreshment. Amen.

This note will help you understand the report card markings for COVID-19 Remote Learning in the “Specials” classes. In this 4th quarter, the Specials have been considered “optional” for Grades K-2 and marked as “participation” in Grades 3-8. Student participation in 3-8 has occurred at varying degrees. Unashamed! Romans 1:16 reminds us of this - “I am not ashamed of the Good News about Jesus, because it is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes.” The Good News about Jesus is for you every day!
Peace family and friends, please remember who you are and whose you are. You are God’s special, beloved children. Have a wonderful day in the Lord.
