May 1 - Devotion and Announcements
Devotion for Friday, May 1
“This HOPE is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.” Hebrews 6:19
Have you ever been out on a boat? Did you throw out the anchor? Maybe you wanted to stay in one spot on a river to fish, and the anchor held you there, where the fish were biting. Or maybe you lowered yourself over the side of the boat to swim and splash in a pond (supervision along with swimming proficiency or safety life jacket needed!), and the anchor kept the boat close so you could climb right back in. The anchor held your boat in place.
What if you were on a boat when a wind storm whipped up? You’d toss out your anchor, and it would hold you steady while you waited out the wind and the waves. It would prevent you from being blown off course.
Jesus is our anchor! He is our Hope and our Salvation, and He holds us steady so that we don’t get blown off course. Because He has saved us, we are on our way to heaven; and with Him as our anchor, we won’t get blown off course by things that happen in our lives and in the world.
*If you’ve ever been on a boat, where were you?
*How has Jesus kept you on the course to heaven?
Thank You for sending Jesus to be our Savior, the Anchor of our faith and our Hope of heaven. Amen.

Unashamed! Romans 1:16 reminds us of this - “I am not ashamed of the Good News about Jesus, because it is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes.” The Good News about Jesus is for you every day!
Peace family and friends, please remember who you are and whose you are. You are God’s special, beloved children. Have a wonderful day in the Lord.
Love from Jesus and us,
Mrs. Stathakis and Mrs. Quail
