March 23 - Devotion, Video and Announcements
Devotion for March 23, 2020
“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” Galatians 5:22
At school, students often have a snack break in the morning. When the rule says the snack must be nutritious, parents will likely pack fruit. Fruit is good for you. It gives you good energy, and it keeps your body healthy so it can function as God designed it.
God calls the attributes produced in us by the Holy Spirit “fruit”. What do love, joy, peace, and the rest of the list of nine have to do with fruit?
Just as God grows a little seed into a fruit that matures and ripens, the Holy Spirit produces godly characters that grow within us as we mature in Christian faith. As we learn more and more about God, the Holy Spirit helps us grow in patience, kindness, and goodness. That is good for us because it helps us mature as Christians. It is also good for the kingdom of God. Your faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are blessings to others, and they point people to the Lord, growing His Church.
Now that you’re doing your schoolwork at home, the refrigerator is close by and so is the fruit! In my refrigerator at this moment are apples, plums, blueberries, a melon, and a papaya. Mmm, God makes such a delicious variety of fruits, it’s hard to decide which one I want to enjoy right now. Each one is pleasant to eat and good for the body. The fruit of the Spirit is a blessing to you and to others, good for your soul and good for God’s kingdom.
What kind of fruit will you enjoy today? What kind of godly character is the Holy Spirit developing in you today?
Thank you for nutritious fruit and all the good food our bodies need. Thank you for sending your Holy Spirit, who produces godly character in us. Amen.

Announcements for March 23, 2020
Hello, Peace Lutheran School Students, Families, and Staff!
Today is Monday, March 23, and this is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!
Welcome to the first official week of Peace Lutheran School Remote Learning. Your teacher will be instructing you about lessons and activities, and very soon, you will be able to connect with your teachers and classmates via Zoom. Watch for a message that will help you get that set up on your home device. We miss you, and we hope that you have a happy day and good success with the lessons your teacher provides
Unashamed! Romans 1:16 reminds us of this - “I am not ashamed of the Good News about Jesus, because it is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes.” The Good News about Jesus is for you every day!
Peace family and friends, please remember who you are and whose you are. You are God’s special, beloved children. Have a wonderful day in the Lord.
Love from Jesus and us,
Mrs. Stathakis and Mrs. Quail
