April 23 - Devotion and Announcements
Devotion for Thursday, April 23
“What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 1:13
Yesterday, Mr. Nelson led our Chapel service. Mr. Nelson is the Assistant Principal at Lutheran High Northwest. Thank you, Mr. Nelson, for bringing us God’s Word and helping us to worship Him.
We are celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Lutheran High Schools in the Detroit area. Our Lutheran High Schools, each one individually, and together as an association, provide outstanding education for the boys and girls who go to school there, and family blessings for them and their loved ones. They nurture a life for now and for eternity by teaching God’s truth, encouraging faith development, and engaging young people in godly service in the world.
In gratitude and praise to God, Lutheran High Schools exist for the purpose of raising up people who are “Learning for Life! Leading in Truth!” That is what our Lutheran High Schools are all about. I am very thankful that my children and I spent our teenage years in Lutheran High Schools. They have been a huge part of our lives and a very important part of God’s blessing to us.
I hope you enjoy this short video presentation in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Lutheran High School Association. To God be the glory!
Thank you for the blessing of Christian Education in Lutheran Schools. Please continue to bless Peace and all other Lutheran Schools. Amen.
Announcements for Thursday, April 23
Hello, Peace Lutheran School Students, Families, and Staff!
Today is Thursday, April 23, 2020, and this is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!
Martin Luther’s Morning Prayer is printed here. These faithful words are a wonderful way to begin any day.
I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger. And I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.
Unashamed! Romans 1:16 reminds us of this - “I am not ashamed of the Good News about Jesus, because it is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes.” The Good News about Jesus is for you every day!
Peace family and friends, please remember who you are and whose you are. You are God’s special, beloved children. Have a wonderful day in the Lord.
Love from Jesus and us,
Mrs. Stathakis and Mrs. Quail
