Devotion for Monday, April 20
“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up in your salvation.”
1 Peter 2:2
What was the very first thing your body took in for nutrition? Milk! As a tiny newborn baby, it was what you needed, and you probably cried for it loudly and often! Without the mature digestive system needed for solid foods, milk was life-giving and sustaining. Pretty soon, you graduated to other foods, but you’ve never craved any food more than you craved milk as an infant.
That’s what Peter is talking about in today’s verse. “Spiritual milk” is the Word of God and all of the things that He provides in our Christian life that nurture faith and help us grow in the Lord. Our souls crave those things like a baby craves milk, wanting nothing more than Jesus! He is eternal life-giving and sustaining!
*Do you still like to drink milk? When do you like to drink it?
*Ask your family to tell you a story about when you were a baby.
Thank You for giving me life and the good food that sustains it. Thank You for giving me eternal life and the spiritual nurture that sustains my faith. Amen.

Announcements for Monday, April 20
Hello, Peace Lutheran School Students, Families, and Staff!
Today is Monday, April 20, 2020, and this is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!
We are very thankful to the teachers for creating a great educational remote learning program. We are very proud of the students for keeping up with the lessons and learning a lot! We are very appreciative of the families for helping and encouraging their children’s education.
Unashamed! Romans 1:16 reminds us of this - “I am not ashamed of the Good News about Jesus, because it is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes.” The Good News about Jesus is for you every day!
Peace family and friends, please remember who you are and whose you are. You are God’s special, beloved children. Have a wonderful day in the Lord.
Love from Jesus and us,
Mrs. Stathakis and Mrs. Quail
