April 14 - Devotion and Announcments
Devotion for Tuesday, April 14
The angel said, “Then go quickly and tell His disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell His disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” He said. They came to Him, clasped His feet, and worshiped Him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.” Matthew 28:7-10 (continuing from yesterday)
As soon as the women realized that Jesus had risen from the dead, the angel sent them out to tell the others! “Don’t keep the Good News to yourselves!”, was the message. And the women didn’t just go, they ran! They were the first ones to know that Jesus was alive, and they couldn’t wait to tell!
You and I know the risen Savior. For 2000 years, Christians have been celebrating this wonderful day and the wonderful news that Jesus is alive! He’s back from the dead! He’s back from defeating sin, death, and the devil. Are we filled with joy? Are we running to tell others?
The women set off running, and suddenly, Jesus was there! Immediately, they fell down before Him and hugged His feet. That’s love and devotion! Because He had first loved them so deeply, because He had impacted their hearts and their souls so completely, they threw themselves at Jesus! And then He sent them on their way to carry out their mission, their mission to tell.
Are we excited to be with Jesus? Do we fall at His feet because we are thrilled and overjoyed that He is no longer dead, but alive? He loves us so much that He died for us, and now, HE LIVES!
*What is your favorite thing about Easter?
*How has Jesus made an impact on your heart and soul? Whom will you tell about that?
It is amazing that Jesus rose! It is awesome that He lives again! Help us to love knowing it and telling it. Amen.
Announcements for Tuesday, April 14
Hello, Peace Lutheran School Students, Families, and Staff!
Today is Tuesday, April 14, 2020, and this is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!
*The yearbook staff requests Remote Learning pictures. Please send photos of Remote Learning, as it is going on at your house, to Miss Curley. Some of the yearbook pages will be devoted to families’ home experiences during this historic time.
Unashamed! Romans 1:16 reminds us of this - “I am not ashamed of the Good News about Jesus, because it is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes.” The Good News about Jesus is for you every day!
Peace family and friends, please remember who you are and whose you are. You are God’s special, beloved children. Have a wonderful day in the Lord.
Love from Jesus and us,
Mrs. Stathakis and Mrs. Quail
