Our Program
The early childhood years are an exciting time of growth and development! Here at Peace Lutheran Preschool we offer a well-planned program with a wide variety of experiences to develop young minds and bodies. We are dedicated to the growth of the whole child. Our program provides a balance between free play and teacher-directed learning activities. Learning takes place in a warm, friendly and relaxed setting. Learning materials are easily accessible to the children. These experiences provide a pleasant and enjoyable approach to discovery and creativity.

Our Mission is "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.“ Proverbs22:6
Our goal is to partner with preschoolers and their parents during these critical, formative years. We will walk alongside you as we teach children the love and Word of God.
Our program is designed with your child in mind. We provide a safe, nurturing environment with experienced teachers who love God and love His children. Classroom routines and daily lessons are strategically planned to help each child develop social skills and gain knowledge in preparation for a lifetime of learning.
Our day consists of a balance of large group, small group, and independent activities. In each area we look for opportunities to help children learn, laugh, and recognize how amazing God has made each of us. A typical day includes: learning centers, free choice play, large group/circle time, Jesus time, stories, outdoor/gym time, music and movement, snack time, and closing prayers.
Mrs. Suzette Quail
Early Childhood Director
Mrs. Suzette Quail, Early Childhood Director
I am blessed to oversee an outstanding preschool program and a team of early childhood educators who love children and are dedicated to academic excellence, Christian leadership, and who strive every day to be an inspiration to students and families of God’s grace, mercy and love.

My boys are graduates of Peace Lutheran and Lutheran High School North. Our positive experience in the preschool program and the loving, caring, gifted teachers are what made us stay for K-8. I am grateful that I was led to be the Early Childhood Director after serving Peace as an Office Administrator and preschool teacher.
I enjoy visiting the preschool classrooms each day! The laughter, the smiles, the hugs, and hellos warm my heart. I feel like a rock star when I walk in the room and the children shout “Mrs. Quail!” I love to watch the children learn, grow and develop into strong Christian boys and girls. The progression from the beginning of the year to the end of the year is amazing!

I welcome you to join our Peace family. Peace is home and where you are accepted and welcomed as you are. Here you and your children will feel loved and cared for.
RETURN TO PRESCHOOL
Our enhanced health and safety protocols at Peace Lutheran Preschool align with CDC recommendations, as well as state and local requirements. We continue to consult with experts and monitor updated guidance to ensure our protocols evolve with new learning around COVID-19, so that children, families, teachers, and staff are always protected.
Health Screenings and Face Coverings
Our staff will perform daily health screening and temperature checks on adults and children arriving at the school, and throughout the school day. Teachers and Staff will wear face coverings during this time, when traveling through the building, and when in close contact with students and families.
Distancing and Classroom Size
We will practice physical distancing by reducing classroom sizes, keeping consistent groupings, and limiting outdoor play to one group at a time.
Updated Visitor Policy
Essential visitors, including families dropping off and picking up, will be limited to the lobby. Nonessential visitors will not be permitted in the school building.

Cleaning
We will adhere to frequent cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch surfaces, toys, and laundered items. We will use EPA approved cleaning products.

Mondays: 11:00am-12:30pm

The Panther Cubs Program is a Parent-Tot program that is a teacher-facilitated playgroup for toddlers (ages 2-3) and their parents. Children must be 2 years old by September 1. This program is a wonderful way to introduce young children to a group play environment, and a great way for parents of toddlers to connect to each other. Each class includes music and movement, snack, story time, Jesus time, creative opportunities, and large muscle activities.

Throughout my years I've been inspired by many Lutheran school teachers. Their love for the Lord has motivated me to dig my heels in, pour my heart out and become an educator in a Christian school. Now I get to stimulate children's minds and help them to boost their own creativity every day in class! The Lord led me to Peace in 1993 when we moved back to our home state after being gone for a few years for my husband's job. I look forward to each day I spend educating children. God tells us and equips us to use our gifts, and He walks with us daily so we are never alone. By becoming a team with each family, and with God's help together we can achieve any goal and overcome any obstacle. Teaching the children about Jesus, His love, and His grace is both an honor and a blessing . Seeing life through the eyes of a child each day is refreshing.
My biggest hope is that every child leaves not only with their own academic and social milestones met at the end of the school year but with Jesus IN their heart! I received my degree Early Childhood Studies, with a minor in Biology/Nutrition from Macomb Community College and Oakland University.

I was led to Peace 13 years ago when looking for a preschool home for my youngest son. The Early Childhood director at Peace quickly became a life changing person who not only brought me to Peace as a parent, but soon after, as an employee. I have a Health Science degree from Grand Valley State University along with an Early Childhood teaching certificate. I am blessed to be both a wife and mom to our 3 sons. By coming to Peace, not only did I gain employment, my family also became church members. Peace has become a second family to us. God has continued to place people in my life that have helped grow my faith and my love for teaching young children.

When I began working as a teacher’s aid at Peace Lutheran, I was overjoyed to join a school community that is focused on faith and knowledge. Being a teacher’s aid has given me the opportunity to help young students grow in their faith and education. The community of people I have the privilege to work with is astounding in their capacity for kindness and empathy, and I am proud to be a member of such a wonderful community.
I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Wayne State University, and taught recreational art to children and adults prior to working at Peace Lutheran.

I am a preschool aide. I have been attending Peace since 2008 and my children have been students at school here for the past 14 years. This place just feels like a warm hug on most days. When I decided to go back to work, I didn’t want to work in the field I got my degree in. I wanted to work with kids. I love the Lord and I love kids. I love watching how much the kids grow academically and spiritually over the school year. Learning is fun and we make it fun in preschool.

We came to Peace because a friend recommended it. I’m so thankful that we took her advice. After the amazing experience that we had with Mrs. Towne and Mrs. Yarrington, I wanted to be more involved. I have had the honor of working in the Young 5’s and 4’s classroom. I have learned so much because at this young age they are so eager to learn, so they are always asking questions. I love coming to work because everyday is different and fun. It has been so fulfilling to know that I have the honor of planting seeds of faith and a love for God through art, science, math, music and movement. Having religion as part of our daily curriculum has helped me grow in God, and it is so sweet listening to how they understand and view God. I feel most comfortable when hanging out with these little cuties, I’m thankful to be a part of Peace team where staff and parents can become a “dream team” to lead little children to the throne of Heaven.

The last two years my twin boys attended 3 and 4-year preschool at Peace and it has made a huge impact on our family. The outpouring of love from the teachers, Pastor, and staff not only had me wanting my kids to be a part of this community long term, but also had me praying for an opportunity to get involved on a deeper level. My mission is to help spread the love and light of our savior to precious young minds, as the previous teachers did for our family.
